Obituary for Brian Smith
Brian G. Smith, 63, beloved husband of Chris Smith, passed away Tuesday morning after a 6 month battle with colon cancer. He leaves behind his two loving sons, Michael Smith and Seth Smith (Ashley Andrews) with whom he shared countless fond memories.
The son of Carolyn (Wiggins) and Gerald Smith, Brian grew up in Bellwood, graduating from Bellwood Antis High School in 1976. A long time lover of the Buffalo Bills, Brian had a passion for watching cars race around the Bedford Speedway and making conversation with anyone he came across. When Sundays come, we'll always picture him in his favorite chair in his favorite room, watching the game. He is truly missed by his favorite dogs, Rocco, Scrapy, Tanner and JJ.
Previously employed at Bellwood IGA, Wissingers, Jubilee Foods and Giant, Brian started his grocery career at 16 and worked tirelessly to excel into management. He most recently was a truck driver for Gallikers Dairy, retiring in June 2022.
Surviving are his wife of 44 years, two sons, a daughter in law, a sister, Deborah, mother and father in law, Gary and Sandy Kimmel, brothers in law Alfred Peterman and Brad (Nannette) Peterman, nephew Travis (Ali) Peterman, and many other loving family and friends.
Brian was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Marylin, Nana, who was his best buddy and his favorite dogs, Muffy, Molly, Odie, Tide, Spartan and many foster fur babies, and his nephew, TJ
