Obituary for Edwin Bruce
Edwin “Ed” Bruce, age 66, of Clearfield passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Monday December 18, 2023.
He was born January 8th, 1957, in Augsburg Germany and was a graduate of Juniata High School in Mifflintown. He was a proud member of the United States Army and served time in Hawaii.
Ed was a proud citizen of Walnut and was always the life of the party. When you spent time with Ed his happiness was contagious, you would catch him dancing and singing and just enjoying the little things in life. Ed worked for Meals on Wheels in Clearfield and adored his job; he would take the time to sit with those he delivered to and seeing them made his day as much as it made theirs! Ed previously worked for UGI and Harrisburg Dairy.
He is survived by his daughter Jennifer (Bruce) Herman, her partner Shaun Weimer, his son Kyle Bruce and his wife Minda Bruce (Byerly); 4 grandsons Blake, Nolan, Isaac, and Caleb; his four sisters Barbra Eckard (Bruce) her husband Hayes Eckard, Mary Mertz (Bruce), Janet Danner (Bruce) her husband Robert Danner, Susan Brower (Bruce) her husband Mark Brower; his three brothers Robert Bruce his wife Pam Bruce (Haynes), Philip Bruce and his wife Beth Bruce (Wahl), Johnny Bruce his wife Coletta Bruce; nieces and nephews Corri and Neve Shambaugh, Eric and Logan Dillman, Abraham David, Michael Mertz, Jessica Bruce, Chloe Brower, Anna Murphy, Christopher and Catherine Bruce, Brandon and Nathan Danner, Danyel Ellen, Shawna and Joesph Edge, Alexa Bruce, and Steven, Katielyn and Aerianna Ruby .
He was preceded in death by his Father Robert Bruce, his Mother Helen Bruce (Reynolds), his infant sister Jean Bruce, his niece Emma Brower, his nephews William and Solomon David.
No services will be held, the family will be doing a celebration of life at a later date. In lieu of flowers we ask for donations to Clearfield County Meals on Wheels program.
