Obituary for Florence Reirdon (McCort)
Florence Elizabeth Reirdon, 85, of Mahaffey passed away on Saturday, January 1, 2022 at the Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital. She died on the feast day of the Solemnity of the Virgin Mary.
She was born on February 29, 1936 in St. Clairsville, OH, a daughter of the late William Thomas and Florence (Gallagher) McCort.
Florence was very religious and devoted her life to God. She enjoyed her grandchildren and was delighted by her great grandchildren.
She was a member of St. Cosmas & Damian Roman Catholic Church, Punxsutawney. Florence belonged to the Third Order of Saint Dominic. She held the title of Sister Florence McCort Reirdon T.O.P. vowed.
She is survived by her loving children, Lisa Towne and husband Dana, Daniel Reirdon and wife Lorri, Anne Jenkins and husband Rick; grandchildren, Daniel J. Reirdon and wife Jessica, Sherri Reirdon, Kristal, Rachel, and Jeffrey Jenkins; great-grandchildren, Adara Jones, Nora Davis, and Kaden Reirdon; a brother, Gerald (Butch) McCort; and sisters Mary Kay Mallett, Geraldine Mansuay, Regina Flaherty, Teresa Santen, Anne Riesbeck and a multitude of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Charles, William, Arthur, Douglas; and sisters, Janine Bizanovich, Aldreda Mengon, and Caroline Hrabak.
Honoring Florence's wishes there will be no public services. A Christian burial will take place at a later date.
