Obituary for Jeffrey Prentice

Jeffrey Neil Prentice, 65, loving father, grandfather, and a true friend to everyone, took his first breath in heaven on Tuesday, March 14th 2023, after battling a long illness.
Jeff was born to Edward and Dorothy (Thayer) Prentice on May 7th, 1957 in Bradford, Pennsylvania. He grew up on Hobson Place and fondly recalled having great friends and good times in that neighborhood. Jeff however, spent all of summers as a child and teenager at his parent’s cabin on Chautauqua Lake. It was here that Jeff became an avid water skier.
Jeff attended local schools in Bradford, ultimately graduating from the Bradford Area High School.
On September 25th, 1981, Jeff married Deborah J. Mealy, who predeceased him on April 1st 2014.
Jeff stayed local to the area and worked for Halliburton, Werzalit, and Bethlehem Burial. In the last few years, Jeff worked for Fairway Ford, driving, and delivering new cars for the dealership. Jeff truly loved this job and was proud to be a part of the organization.
Years before Jeff became ill, he was heavily involved with the Lewis Run Volunteer Fire Department. Jeff loved being a Volunteer Fireman and spent many years training to be amongst the best of the best. He was present for bingo nights, benefits, and assisted the department anyway that he could. During his time at the department, he was a member of the Truck Committee, was on the Board of Directors, and proudly achieved the rank of Fire Captain.
Jeff is survived by his daughters Stephanie Prentice-White of Meadville, Missy (Shawn) McAndrew-Ivanich of Olean, one son Jason (Lyndsey) McAndrew of Bradford, grandchildren Christopher White, Michayle White, Jared McAndrew, Derek McAndrew, his aunt Dolores Winner of Bradford, and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Jeff is also survived by a loving, longtime companion Kathleen Dietz, who graciously took care of him at the end of his life. Lastly, he leaves behind his little dog Louie, who misses him dearly.
Besides his wife and parents, Jeff was predeceased by brothers Thayer (Tiger) Prentice, Robert (Bob) Prentice, and a sister Janet (William) McCord.
Jeff will be missed so much by everyone. He was a good man with a big heart. His love for his family and friends was genuine.
Arrangements are being made by PA Simple Cremation in Clearfield Pa. Burial will be alongside his mother and father in Willow Dale Cemetery in Bradford Pa.
A Celebration of life is being planned for a later date.
