Obituary for Julius Springborn

Julius Frederick Springborn passed away Wednesday, November 30, 2016 in DuBois, Pa of natural causes, he was 88 years young.  “Jules” was born in LaSalle, Illinois on May 14, 1928.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Fred T Springborn and Wilhelmine  Reich, siblings; Merle Springborn, Elaine Grimm and Crystal Mercer,  son Lon Paul Springborn and grandson Christopher Donald Jewell.  He is survived by Chris (Kahne) Springborn, Loveland Ohio, Sally (Don) Crooks, Batavia Ohio, Debra (Benjamin) Kohlhepp, Falls Creek, Pa, and Tammy (Donald) Jewell DuBois, Pa, 8 Grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren.
Julius served in the U.S. Navy as an Electricians Mate during WW II, afterward for the remainder of his life he worked in sales for various industries receiving many sales awards.  He loved land sales and enjoyed working throughout the country and specifically in DuBois, Pa., where he assisted the original owner and subsequent owners in the development of Treasure Lake.  He served as both Sales Manager and Project Manager of Treasure Lake over the years.   He was an avid Golfer and won many senior tournaments. He enjoyed traveling and spending time with family.  His most formidable quote was “lead, follow or get out of the way”.

There is no viewing, a memorial service with Navy honors will be held for friends and family at the Morning Side Cemetery Chapel on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at 12:00 p.m.
