Obituary for Karen Mencer (Ehrhart)
Karen (Ehrhart) Mencer, 64, of Woodland, went home to be with the lord on Februaury 9th, at her residence.
Karen was born on June 3, 1956 in Corry, PA, was the daughter of the late Frank and Frieda (Stutzman) Ehrhart.
On May 28th, 2004 she wed David R. Mencer, who survives at home.
Also surviving are her children, Sherie Williams of Philipsburg; Jason Long and wife, Amy, West Decatur; stepdaughters Stephanie and Jennifer Mencer of Woodland; grandchildren Dakota Long, Caleb Williams, Macy Long, Tucker Long and Reagan Mencer; siblings, Frank Ehrhart Jr. and wife Nancy of Palm Coast, FL; Betty Johns of State College, PA; Barbara Decker and husband Mark of Spring Mills, PA; Wanda Burke and husband Randy of Abingdon, VA; brother-in-law Donald Converse of Manheim, PA, also numerous other extended family members.
In addition to her parents, Karen was preceded in death by her sister Judy Converse.
Karen was a graduate of State College High School, class of 1975. After graduating, Karen was employed by General Cigar Factory of Philipsburg and by Jostens Inc. until her retirement in 2010.
Karen loved nothing more than spending time with her family, attending her grandchildren's events, being at home with her cats Lucy and Sylvester, reading, drawing, scrapbooking and collecting her beloved horses.
A private funeral service will be held at the Wesleyan Faith Holiness Church of Bigler, her brother-in-law Pastor Rex Evan's officiating.
