Obituary for Margaret Bennett
Margaret Mary Bennett, 79 of Pennsylvania Furnace, died on Wednesday, June 30, 2021, peacefully in her home. She was the daughter of the late Vincent Paul Engel and the late Elizabeth Francis Hodge Engel.
She was the wife of the late Donald G. Bennett, married on February 11, 1961. She was the mother of the late Donald G. Bennett II; survived by Daughter Lisa Marie Young and her husband Jerry J. Young of Pittsburgh; Paul W. Bennett of Port Vue; three brothers, John Engel, Vincent Engel, Gerry Engel and three sisters Barbara Setler, Mary Parker, Kathleen Macie; seven grandchildren, Sean, Josh, Jennifer & Michael, Julia & Brian and Nicole; One great grandchild Bennett Grice.
Margaret and late husband, Don, raised three children. Both worked full time while Margaret attended the University of Pittsburgh, obtaining her Bachelor's degree. They relocated to the State College area in the early 1990's, engraining themselves in the community. After retiring from her career in Medical Billing Management, Margaret was deeply involved with the Centering Prayer Group and Prayer Shawl Ministry at Good Shepherd Catholic Church. Margaret will be deeply missed by family, community, and friends.
Margaret's life will be celebrated with a Memorial Mass, Wednesday July 7, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 867 Grays Woods Boulevard, Port Matilda, PA 16870 with the Reverend Charlie Amershek Jr. officiating.
