Obituary for Sean Weinlein

Sean Alan Weinlein, 40, of Altoona, PA, formerly Pittsburgh and Lancaster, PA passed away on November 1, 2021.

Sean was raised by the late Margaret (Marge, or Margie) and John (Jack) Weinlein up and down the east coast of the United States starting in Pittsburgh and mostly in Lancaster. After the family settled down in Lancaster upon return from North Carolina, Sean kept busy with soccer, a buzzing social life, and caddying regularly at Bent Creek Country Club and Lancaster Country Club. Sean graduated from Lancaster Catholic High School in 1999 and ventured west across the mountains back to his birthplace to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Marketing from the University of Pittsburgh, which he completed in 2004. Sean was a natural talker, private at times, but a genuine man who did his best to look out for others over himself. Sean worked in a variety of industries from financial management, insurance sales to hospitality, and everything in between. Forever a dog lover, Sean was quick to jump on the floor to wrestle any dog, no matter the occasion and spent his final days with his dog Lizzie. Sean was forever a fan of Pitt football, basketball, and proud member of the Steeler Nation with plenty of loyalty for the Pens and Pirates.

Sean is survived by his brother Paul, his wife Kate and their son Andy of Lancaster, PA and his brother Bill, his wife Nikki and their son Rory and daughter Zoey of Katy, TX. Sean is also survived by multiple cousins in western PA (Matthew, Sarah and Ryan), New Jersey (Bryan his wife Shelley and their children Will, Walker, and Addy) and North Carolina (Tim) in addition to his uncle Ed and aunt Sharon in South Carolina.
The family requests that you remember his smile, his compassion, his stubbornness, and his laughs (both the genuine one and the snarky one). Sean’s was a life that ended too soon but we will forever remember him at his best moments and are hopeful to know that he is at peace.
