Obituary for Teresa DeGuzman

Teresa Catherine Deguzman was born to late John and Nancy Strausbaugh, in York, PA on January 21, 1962. She was immersed in the Punxsutawney community famous for ground hogs’ day. Where she found lifelong support thru friends, co-workers, and family. She a retired successful businesswoman in early years CEO of Deguzman’s Pottery building her legacy for 23 years.

Teresa was blessed with a beautiful family. She married her Best Friend and fellow high school sweetheart Victor Haden Deguzman. Started their journey together with a proposal at the stunning Niagara Falls, NY. One of the happiest days of her life story. She would say the tears of joy only added to the rapids before them standing in bright yellow fully clothed raincoats. Bonding literally until sadly death due them part. For loss of Victor came sudden, unexpected July 28, 2008 Heart Failure.

Teresa lived on still thru sadness she never got over for another 14 years. Even through her tragic loss she stayed strong, kind, and soft spoken. Loving to go shopping! Anyone who encounter her couldn’t help but laugh for she had an amazing sense of humor. She was always had time to answer a question, solve a problem, no matter how small. She would stop anything and everything to help. She will be dearly missed, needed by her loved ones especially her two daughters Amanda Howell and Sarah Lettsome. Teresa’s laughter, memory, stubborn ways are thriving continuously thru them.

Teresa is survived by her two daughter oldest Sarah Lettsome, youngest Amanda Howell: Three Grandchildren Izzy, Skyler, Dawson. Her three sisters Carol, Pam, Mary.

Teresa is finally at peace as of November 12, 2022, on a Saturday morning at 6:23am. Due to Liver, Kidney, Heart Failure. At the Heart and Vascular Institute at UPMC Shadyside Hospital. She may be gone but not alone even in Heaven she is embraced with loved ones who been waiting for her arrival entering through Heavens gates. Both parents John and Nancy Strausbaugh and forever love husband Victor Deguzman. DAD (Victor use to say” Women know how to make a man wait” I know he is saying.

Now 14 years later Teresa my love you are always worth the wait. Rest in peace Mom, Sister,
Grandmother for we will see you again at the gates of heaven. Love you always in our hearts.
