Darlene Notestine

August 6, 1958 — September 15, 2025

Darlene S. Notestine, 67, of Saxton, PA, passed away peacefully on September 15, 2025, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Darlene was born on August 6, 1958, the daughter of the late Elvin and Susan Hinkle and the wife of the late Steven Notestine Sr.

Darlene was known as a dedicated and hardworking individual. She spent most of her career at Lake Raystown Resort and Lodge. Darlene approached every task with diligence, pride, and a smile. She believed that no task was too small if it was done with care.

Darlene’s greatest joy and purpose came from her role as a mother and family matriarch. She was the proud mother of three children: Daniel Notestine, Christina Sparks, and Steven Notestine Jr., all of whom were the center of her world. She raised her children with patience, sacrifice, and unconditional love, teaching them through example the values of kindness, responsibility, and perseverance. Her guidance and support were constant, and she never hesitated to put her family’s needs before her own.

Darlene is survived by her siblings, Clair, Doris, Barry, Patsy, and Shelby – sharing many cherished memories over the years. She was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Bob and Fred, and carried their memory with her always.

Those who knew Darlene will remember her warm, calming presence, her quiet sense of humor, and her natural ability to make others feel valued. She faced life challenges with incredible grace, never losing her gentle spirit even in the hardest of times.

Above all, Darlene was a woman of resilience, heart, and humility. Her legacy will live on in the lives she touched and the family she loved so deeply.

A celebration of life gathering will be held at a later date, allowing family and friends the time and space to come together in remembrance and honor of Darlene’s life.
