Elva Stoner Jefferies

Elva Stoner Jefferies, age 100, of Bedford, PA passed away on August 29, 2025, at  home under hospice care.

Elva was born at home on January 9, 1925, in Cumberland Valley Township. She was the daughter of the late Dr. Alvin Z. Stoner and Leah May (Burkhart) Stoner.

After graduating from Bedford High School, Bedford, PA, in 1943, she attended Catherman's Business School in Cumberland, MD. She then worked at B.F. Goodrich Tires in Cumberland, MD.

She married David W. Jefferies on October 5, 1946. She continued to work at the tire company until she chose to stay home and raise her children.

She is survived by two daughters, Grace J. Goodrich, of Middletown, Ct, and Sandra J. Stucky, of Bedford, PA, as well as 3 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great granddaughter.

After cremation, a private family service will be held at a later date.
