James A. Johnston

James A. Johnston, born April 27, 1940, in Clearfield, PA to Harry and Mary (Johnston) Derrick, passed September 1, 2026.  James graduated from the Curwensville Area High School and joined the military in 1958 during the Korean War.  While in the military, he married Theressa L. Hipps on October 8, 1960.  James and Theressa had five children,   Debra, James J., Douglas, Nancy and Max.  James and Theressa have six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.  He was preceeded in death by wife, Theressa and son, Douglas. James's hobbies included antique bottle collecting, hunting, fishing and spending time with family.  James was a very hard-working, dedicated family man and will be greatly missed by all who loved him. There will be no services at this time.
