Joshua Rettger

May 8, 1991 — November 18, 2025

Joshua Rettger, a beloved father, son, brother, uncle, and friend, was born on May 8, 1991, in St. Marys, Pa. He departed from this world on November 18, 2025, at the age of 34. Joshua's life journey, though tragically cut short by natural causes, was rich with laughter, adventure, and lasting connections.

Joshua was the cherished son of Jacqueline Rettger (Michael Gates), Christopher Rettger and loving step-mother Michelle Marsh. Though he faced the sorrow of losing his father, Christopher, he found resilience and strength in the love of his family, particularly his grandparents, David and Judith Rettger, who played an instrumental role in his upbringing. They, alongside his loving aunts, Kimberly Wonderly (Ethan Peterson) and LuAnn Beimel (Perry Beimel), and his uncle, Patrick Rettger (Helen Rettger), surrounded Joshua with warmth and affection that shaped his character.

He is lovingly remembered by his siblings—Ashley Rettger-Harvey (Patrick Harvey), Bethany Rettger, Victoria Rettger, and Jessica Rettger—who shared countless memories and adventures with him. Joshua was also a doting father to his children Gemma and Asa, who brought immense joy to his life. One of his biggest regrets was not keeping his son, Tyler, an active part of his life and for not reaching out to him when circumstances allowed.

Joshua was known for his gruff exterior that concealed a heart full of love and laughter. Once you got to know him, his true personality emerged—a funny, lovable man with a deep affection for those he held dear. He cherished spending time with family and friends, forging bonds that would last a lifetime. One of his greatest joys was taking his children on thrilling ATV rides, creating memories filled with laughter and excitement that they will carry with them forever.

His spirit will forever be felt in the hearts of those who loved him. Although he may no longer walk among us, Joshua's spirit lives on through the memories we hold dear and the love we shared. He leaves behind a legacy of joy, laughter, and the importance of family, reminding us to cherish each moment and to embrace the adventures life has to offer.

As we say goodbye to Joshua Rettger, we celebrate his life, his love for adventure, and the joy he brought to all who knew him. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the stories we share and the love that binds us together. May he rest in peace.
