Julie Grace Confer

Julie Grace (Barndt) Confer , 68, of Bellefonte, passed away on August 27, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born to the late Meryl and Dorothy Barndt, Julie was a woman who loved fiercely and had a personality that was entirely her own. She was outspoken, strong-willed, and incredibly protective of the people she loved. You never had to wonder what Julie was thinking—she would happily tell you—and those who knew and loved her wouldn’t have had her any other way.

Julie shared her life with her spouse, Rick Confer, whom she loved dearly—and also loved to torment whenever the opportunity presented itself. Their life together was filled with love, laughter, teasing, and countless memories that her family will forever cherish.

Above all else, Julie’s greatest joy was her family. She was the loving mother of Kyle Confer (Erica) and Kala Fisher and the incredibly proud “Grammy” of Peyton, Kenzie, Zain, Zayer, Bentley, Aiden, and Landon. Being Grammy was one of the greatest joys of her life. She loved her grandchildren tremendously, and the memories they made with their Grammy will be carried with them forever.

She is also survived by her siblings, Terry Barndt (Linda), Vance Barndt(Denise), Callie Holt(Kurt), Tracy Martin(Craig), and Christy Fritchman(Brad). She was preceded in death by her parents, Meryl and Dorothy Barndt.

Along with her family, Julie adored her beloved dog, Lily, who was a special companion to her. Whether she was spending time with her grandchildren, giving someone her unfiltered opinion, protecting the people she loved, or giving Rick a hard time, Julie had a presence that was impossible to overlook.

Julie was loved tremendously. Her family will miss her voice, her humor, her fierce protectiveness, her outspoken personality, and all of the little things that made her who she was.

While those who loved her would give anything for more time, Julie leaves behind something that cannot be taken away—the enormous amount of love she gave throughout her life. That love will live on through her children, her grandchildren, her family, and every story they continue to tell about her.

To honor Julie’s wishes, there will be no services held. Please continue to hold our family in your thoughts and prayers as we navigate this new journey. She will be deeply missed, endlessly remembered, and forever loved.
