Karen Stephenson went to meet Jesus on November 10, 2025 at the age of 67 after battling cancer.
She was born to Andy and Bernice Holiday on January 22, 1958 in Indiana, PA.
She attended Marion Center High School. After graduating, she had a brief stint at a beauty school. She then married and pursued the most difficult career of all, raising children, and excelled at it. She always did her best to raise them in the way of the Lord.
When her children were young, she created many wonderful memories with them, including attending and videoing every band concert and competition with her son and daughter, and horse shows and 4H with her daughter. She also had a passion for sewing and creating things. She enjoyed baking and always prepared home cooked meals for dinner every night. Her life was devoted to caring for her family.
Karen loved Jesus and was never afraid to share her faith and values with those around her. She loved the outdoors and living away from the busyness of city life. She loved bird watching and befriending the many cats that would show up on her porch. She loved the many pets she had over the years, especially a dog named “Taffy”.
More than anything, Karen loved spending time with her husband, Ron, whom she married in 2011. They found their dream home together out in the country. They loved camping in a special cabin at Clear Creek State Park. They loved shopping for antiques or any other supplies to make their home their own, like something out of a magazine. She had the perfect eye for interior decorating. They lived an amazing lifetime together over 14 years.
Karen joins her parents, Andy and Bernice, and her “grammy”, Goldie, in Heaven.
Karen is survived by her husband, Ron Stephenson, her children, Louis J. Barota (wife, Gretchen), Kara Nickels (fiancé, Kevin), grandchildren Blake, Kally, and Liberty. She is also survived by her former husband and father of her children, Louis V. Barota, and her siblings, Mike Holiday (wife, Darlene), Mark Holiday (wife, Janis), Kim Olson (husband, Ron), as well as her Uncle Don and Aunt Sandy Lentz, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
