Rex Allen Payne Sr

Rex Allen Payne, 51, of Mount Union, Pennsylvania, passed away on May 28, 2026, at Hershey Medical Center after a short, hard-fought battle with cancer. A proud Air Force veteran, Rex lived life on his own terms — full of laughter, loyalty, and a rare kind of realness that made people feel at ease the moment they met him. He had a gift for making those around him feel seen, and his absence leaves a hole that simply cannot be filled.

Rex was born on August 25, 1974, to Sharlene Worden and Anthony Lane. He is survived by his parents; his children, Rex Payne Jr. (partner Celia Stever) and Axel Payne; his companion, Nichole Lontz, and her two daughters and three grandchildren; his brother, Rocky Lane (wife Pam Lane); his sisters, Robin Gearhart and Lexi Rusk (husband Steve Rusk); his cat Sally; and a number of beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Tina Snyder (husband Bill Snyder).

A Celebration of Life will be held on July 4, 2026, at his home in Mount Union, PA. Friends and family are welcome all day.
