Shawn Patrick Orr, 70, of Altoona, Pennsylvania passed away on Monday, March 16, 2026 at UPMC Altoona.
Shawn was born on Tuesday, September 20, 1955 at Munson Army Hospital in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas to Dorothy “Darlene” Saum (née Morrison) and his biological father John Patrick McKeown. Shawn was later adopted by William “Bill” Hunter Orr who he considered to be his Dad.
Shawn grew up as a proud “Military Brat” and lived and attended many schools across the country and Germany. While Shawn was a 1973 graduate from Irvin High School in El Paso, he also considered himself an alumni from Leavenworth High School in Leavenworth, Kansas. Shawn joined the US Navy after high school and was assigned to the USS Franklin D. Roosevelt. Shawn would later have many different jobs throughout his life but his favorite was when he worked at Cessna in Wichita, Kansas.
Shawn was married to Bonnie “Gail” Orr (née Elliott) from December 7, 1976 until her death on December 8, 2006, thirty years and one day. Shawn is survived by his two daughters, Nataisha Beltran (Jaime) and Amanda Asaf (Bryan), three grandchildren Aszlyn, Jhayce and Rhyse Asaf, and two grand pups JuJu and Tequila Beltran. Shawn is also survived by one sister, Suzanne Krill (née Orr). Shawn is predeceased by his parents, one brother, William Thomas “Tommy” Orr, and his favorite Grandpa, Lawrence Fredrick Morrison.
Graveside services will be held at East Lawn Palms Cemetery, 5801 E. Grant Rd, Tucson, Arizona 85712 on Monday, April 27, 2026 at 9:00 am.
Shawn requested that his final words be, “Let’s go fishing.”
