My mother and father , Francine and Walter Shipley had many wonderful things to say about Ed. He was admired by them both for the man he was. My brother Jerry Shipley also admired him and enjoyed working with him. The three of them, Ed, Jerry and Walter can sit in heaven and go over this and that about the coal business. My condolences to the family just wanted to let you know how important he was to my dad and brother

Our deepest sympathy on Uncle Ed's passing. The picture is a classic, just the way I remember him. No more fishing adventures for he and Dad, just the memories and stories they told of their adventures. May God fill you with good memories, knowledge that he did his very best. Most of all remember and be proud that he and Aunt Mary instilled the drive and determination to get you through what ever this world dishes out, even the passing of a parent. We are all survivors, bound and determined. I see it in you my cousins, in my children, and hear it each time I sound like Dad. I'm sure you hear and see Uncle Ed each time you speak or act they way he did. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree.God Bless. Randy, Vicky, Cheyenne, and Wyatt Albert.

I am so sorry to hear that Ed passed away. He was like a second dad to me and I remember all the time I spent at the Hanslovan home when we were kids. Ed & Mary are two of the greatest and most generous people that you would ever meet. Ed will be truly missed . My condolences to the entire family. I love you all.
